Kristen (Tschida) Latzke (LOG #21)

My participant LOG was #21 and I co-led LOG #28 with Kaitlyn Fewell (now Phipps). I live in Indianapolis with my husband, daughter, and two dogs.

My husband Jon and I met at Riley High School and I convinced him to come to LOG #31. After high school I attended Purdue University where I graduated with a degree in Animal Science with a speculation in Animal Behavior and Well-being and a minor in Psychology.

I work at the Indianapolis Zoo as an educator and I am passionate about animal conservation. I had the privilege to go to Namibia last summer to work with the Cheetah Conservation Fund. This won’t surprise those who knew me during my LOG days as my maiden name, Tschida, is pronounced just like “cheetah”.

I will be completing my Master’s degree this Spring in Biology and hope to obtain a job doing conservation research. Although my free time is minimal, I like painting, photography, volleyball, and cheering on the Purdue Boilermakers.
