LOG Alumni

Stay connected to the LOG program and over 1600 people who have shared in the love of God in the special way we call LOG since 1997

We're always looking for volunteers. Serve on the alumni team for a weekend or become an adult leader.

(must be two years out of high school to serve as an adult leader)

Follow along with us on social media. The best way to stay connected is through the Alumni Facebook page.

You can support the LOG organization so that more teenagers can have a LOG experience like yours!

Hey guys and gals it’s Chaz Shabazz here, participant LOG #85, (insert clap).  I am still here in the Michiana area and have connected with some awesome Christian groups that help me stay strong in my faith. Terry asked me to share them with you in case any of you would like to check them out.  It’s okay if you’re not, I know that we are busy we all have our own lives to live, but having these experiences have really helped me to stay strong. They are all very welcoming and understanding especially with people’s schedules with schools and work, etc.

On Mondays, I am part of a group called Chi Alpha – it’s a small Bible study group made up of people from IUSB, Ivy Tech and Purdue.  We typically meet from 7-9pm at New Life Assembly of God in South Bend.  So it’s really cool to be a part of a community full of college students and people our age that want to follow God and learn more about him. Typically we start with worship and prayer and then we separate into our small groups.  We go over whatever the theme or message is for that night. Afterward, we meet back up as one big group and typically end the night with playing some games, eating snacks, and fellowshipping. It’s really great to be a part of something so close.

On Tuesdays, I am a part of the Young Adult group at Vineyard Church.  We meet from 7:00pm – 8:30pm at the Jackson Road campus.  We start the night with worship and prayer and then the young adult pastor, Andrew, has a lesson for us and shows us how to use the Word of God in our daily lives.  Later, there’s time for fellowship and learning more about Jesus.

On Thursdays, I attend a Bible study (again, at Vineyard).  Right now, we are working our way through the a four-week study of the book of Hebrews. The amazing thing about it is that they always have another class about one of the books in the Bible. This is a great way to learn more in depth about the book, what each chapter talks about, and how Jesus comes into that and plays the ultimate role.

On Saturday evenings, I worship at Vineyard from 5:30pm to 6:30pm and, on Sunday mornings, I worship at That Church Downtown from 11:00am to 12:30pm.

I get that this is a lot of information. Don’t think you have to be devoted to every single one of them but you’re welcome to join me for one or more of them. It’s just something I do to keep my faith strong as it is, especially with the path that I’ve started to grow on.

You can either contact me directly or have Terry get a hold of me, but the more the merrier. Please don’t hesitate to ask!
