We don’t know much of the first 30+ years of Jesus’ earthly life. After his birth stories, we don’t really see him again until his baptism and the beginning of his ministry about age 30. What was he like as a child or teenager? There’s that story in Luke 2 about his getting separated from his parents on their pilgrimage to Jerusalem for Passover and later being found sitting among the teachers in the temple courts – but that’s about all.
We believe Jesus is God incarnate – en-fleshed – which means Jesus was one of us. And that means that he felt what we feel and hurt like we hurt and loved like we love. He gets it – He gets us.
