I have been part of LOGMichiana since (almost) the very beginning -- attending LOG #3 before graduating from Penn and attending Purdue. Along with another alumna, Trisha (Bacon) Neudorff, we founded a LOG-type program on campus for college-aged students called QUEST. After receiving my English degree, I lived in Indy for awhile before (briefly) moving back to town and serving as an adult adviser and co-leader adviser. Our permanent move back to town in 2015 gave me the chance to serve as a board member and now President. I have literally done it all when it comes to LOG, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
High school was such an emotional and tumultuous time for me as I tried to figure out how my faith impacted my life and vice versa. What kind of Christian was I supposed to be? Could be? What were other Christian high school kids like? Attending LOG made me realize that I wasn't alone and that it was possible to follow and learn more about Jesus while still having fun and making friendships along the way.
I want to be able to continue to provide that type of experience and safe space for other Michiana high school students, and that's why I continue to serve in any way that I can. I'm a little intimidated to follow in our former President Brian Grantz's footsteps but I'm excited to work with the rest of the Board in leading LOG through another 100 weekends!
