Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind and love your neighbor as yourself.

Luke 10:27 is a very powerful scripture to me - a reminder to try and walk closer with God every day. These verses help me to see the best in everyone and help those less fortunate around me. Earlier in Luke it says, “Do to others as you would have them do to you”. (Luke 6:31) This is the “golden rule” – treat others the way you would want to be treated.

Everyone goes through life differently and sometimes we cannot know what is going on in other people’s lives and they can act out. Forgiveness for these people is a strong point of this passage to me. To love God is to love your neighbor and forgive their shortcomings and then move on down your path walking closer with the Lord.
