It has been said that a picture is worth a thousand words. If that's so, then in LOG, a song is worth a million.
We wrap up most LOG talks by listening to (and often singing along with) a song that has been chosen by the person giving the talk. The talk song is supposed to drive home the main point of the talk with a power that comes from combining words and music in a way that speaks as much to the heart as it does to the head. God can use a well-chosen talk song to help us remember the way we felt while listening to the talk well after we’ve forgotten what the speaker actually said.
Like many of you, I find choosing a talk song difficult as there are so many songs that God has used to speak into my life. Now and then, I get to share one.
In this season when we remember the many things for which we are thankful, I’ll allow my talk song to speak way beyond any words I could type on this page. It’s only about four minutes long – stop right now and listen – and then tell God, “You have been good”.
